The Citadel of Namur is a pretty photogenic site in the Wallonia region (Belgium), especially during the autumn when the colorful leaves are all over the place. It’s a worth visit spot – the main attraction of Namur I would say – full of history and beautiful views. I visit the citadel at the end of October (2016) during a trip through the south of Belgium and Luxembourg, and Namur was the first stop on the itinerary.

The Citadel is walled and sits on the top of a hill, which gives you a privileged view of the city of Namur and the Meuse Valley. Also, the views from inside the wall are very nice; it’s a mix of medieval buildings and nature. The place offers you plenty of opportunities to take good pictures. I have to confess that I got a little crazy with my camera, trying to shoot every detail and still get the whole ambiance.
