The Antiques, Bric-À-Brac & Book Market is a famous street fair in Delf. It’s a popular activity for the locals and an amusing thing to see if you visit the city during a Thursday or a Saturday when the market happens in the historic center.
The fair is quite big, and it’s spread around the center and the canals. It’s pretty cool to walk around the stalls checking out the items; the selection is quite good. Some beautiful antiques, books, Blue Delft pottery, a bunch of curious old stuff with unknown functions – to me at least.
I was lucky enough to visit Delft during the weekend, and I was able to check out the market and buy a little Blue Delft plate as a souvenir (I paid only €1,50, cheaper than a magnet). The historic center was super alive, full of people enjoying the market and the not-so-good weather.

Street markets are so fun, it’s a great way to understand more of the local culture and lifestyle, and also try some local treats (depending on the market, of course). Well, if you are in Delft on a Thursday or Saturday, you can also check out the General Market, both markets happen on the same days and pretty close to each other.
